Qualified and executive-level accountancy and finance appointments
After University, Paul planned to go travelling and then move to London, but after an opportunity in recruitment was presented, 18 years later he still lives close to his family and works in the industry he now loves.
He set up the business in 2013 after nine years working for a global recruitment firm at offices across the North East.
When his son was born in 2012, Paul wanted to create a business that offered a work-life balance with greater flexibility to traditional recruitment businesses.
He enjoys walking to school every day with Jude and Olivia, allowing his wife to head off to work in the NHS, but really, he just does it so he can ride Jude’s scooter home (yes, there’s pictures!).
Outside of work Paul is Chair of Governors at Wynyard Church of England Primary School, he plays team squash for Norton Squash Club and enjoys social golf as a member of a local club.
Q. What has been your career highlight so far?
Building the business that we are today.
Q. When recruiting for a position, what quality do you value the most?
Values – I believe that if you align the values of a person with an organisation and their behaviours with a role, any skill gaps can be trained. I like the saying “You hire for attitude and train for skills”.
Q. If you could go on a trip anywhere in the world, where would it be?
Lapland – for my young children to meet Santa.
